Doordarshan - D Days !

As promised in my first post (Our first television), I am listing my favourite serials. These serials were watched by one and all in the family ... age was no barrier. Those were the days when everyone watched just Doordarshan (remember good old days without cable television). It was almost the family time where all members spent time together. The time slot was fixed.... 9:00pm everynight. We planned carefully to finish dinner before the announcement of the serial was made. Annoucement by Sadhana Sargam or Parmeet Sethi added to the beauty of these serial lovers. We had also summarized thoroughly the limited ads that made their way before the serials.
So, here is the list of primetime TV serials during the late 80's.
Mondays: NUKKAD
Tuesdays : Hum Log followed by Buniyaad
Wednesdays : Khandaan (my least fav serial)
Thursdays : Sathyajit Ray presents (this one had its moments .... some of them were good episodes)
Fridays : Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (best comedy ever made ... and of course my favourite)
Saturdays : Buniyaad
Sundays : Quiz time by Siddhart Basu with Kavitha (Radha Seth did not match up Kavitha) ... I hardly could answer any question :) ... still it was always a learning experience .... I liked best the way Siddhart said " I beg your pardon !" ... at that time, I said "Ibiggabardon" (though I didn't get the sentence right ... I knew what it meant)


Apart from the primetime serials, there were few other serials which I thoroughly enjoyed:
